The Local Government, meeting this morning with ordinary character, chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has adopted a multi-annual expenditure of 325,000 euros for the purchase of new vehicles for the local police, through a lease (rent option).

According to the Councillor for Public Safety, Mariano García, through this operation, which goes on public procurement, it is expected to get between eight and ten new cars patrols that will replace others, some with 400,000 miles.

García has stated that this is a first wave, corresponding to the budgets of 2014. In 2015 there another similar item that must also be approved soon for recruitment which will be used for the acquisition, including through leasing of ten motorcycles and four patrol cars.

INNOVATION CENTER "N URBANA

The Governing Board also approved the agreement with the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Cartagena, to launch the CTRACCIÃ "N project called Neighborhood Entrepreneurs in the Old Town. In particular, as advanced the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, a few days ago through the creation of a center for urban innovation and convening of four scholarships for the center.

Urban Innovation Center will be established as a laboratory to start working on specific projects.

Also will support and inform entrepreneurs and will work on aspects that distinguish a smart city (smartacity).

The scholarships will be convened in different areas of work related to the content of the project and by reaching out to students trained at the Polytechnic University.

Grants will be for a period of one year from the areas of architecture and urbanism;

Business and Economics;

Tecnoologías of Information and Communication ICT;

and Energy Efficiency.

The Center for Urban Innovation will be based in ELDI Polytechnic University Cartagena, located on the campus of Antigones.

Thus, the District of Entrepreneurs start rolling, through concrete initiatives and actions that will transform the Monte Sacro and its environment in a smart, sustainable neighborhood and a welcoming place for entrepreneurs.
