The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) today received its first electronic invoice from the entry into force last Friday of Law 25/2013 which establishes the obligation for all Public Limited Companies and Limited Partnerships bill electronically to all Administrations Public above 5,000 euros amounts.
Governments also have an obligation to facilitate electronic invoicing to other suppliers and other assumptions.
The Polytechnic University of Cartagena has been one of the first to comply with this legal requirement adhering to state agencies face, where providers generate invoices or upload xml format and submission to any entity attached.
The UPCT receive 12,000 invoices per year, of which 200 should be processed electronically mandatory.
The Service of Economic Affairs of the Polytechnic, Luis Alarcón, estimated, however, that there will be "a contagion effect by the advantages of electronic invoicing" that will reach between one and two thousand bills this year.
Full guarantees of receipt of the invoice, return status information handling and agility in procedures are some of the advantages that stands Alarcón, who also hopes that payment periods are shortened.
"We are already the second or third institution of the Region of Murcia with an average period of lower payment, currently 23 days, below the legally required 30 days and further away from the average in the Community" details the official UPCT.
From the Accounting Office of the Polytechnic are these days helping suppliers to adapt to the billing portal, with technical support to solve problems with the software, the format of invoices and electronic tax ID certificate.
