The research group in Management, Use and Recovery of Soil and Water School of Agricultural UPCT organized this week a meeting of collaboration and knowledge sharing several LIFE + projects dealing with the rehabilitation of degraded areas and / or contaminated .
The hosts of this meeting projects are the Life + RIVERPHY (Rehabilitation of Heavy Metal Contaminated Riverbed by Phytoextraction Technique), which aims decontamination and landscape rehabilitation of a polluted stretch of Guadalentín river, and the Life + MIPOLARE (Post-Mined Polluted landscapes reclamation by Means of valorization of diferent residues), which aims to environmental and landscape rehabilitation of mineral deposits through assisted phytostabilization.
These days visiting researchers and technicians of the LIFE + I + DARTS project, coordinated by the University of Oviedo;
LIFE + BIOXISOIL, coordinated by the CIEMAT, and LIFE + Tetraclinis-EUROPE, coordinated by the Directorate General Environment of the Region of Murcia.
Between yesterday and today, the participants presented the progress of each of its projects, defining ways of collaboration between them and mechanisms for joint distribution.
In turn two field visits are made.
The first is visitaró yesterday Mining District Cartagena-La Union, where the impacts of mining and rehabilitation techniques used in the area, within the LIFE + project showed Mipolare.
The second output is done today in the town of Lorca, where they will show and explain the waste generated by the companies tanning and debugging their effluents, ending in the bed of the Guadalentín river where you will deploy the RIVERPHY project.
