As of January 15, companies working with the administration must submit their invoices electronically, as required by law.
Self emit bills lower than EUR 5000 are exempted from this obligation
Councillor of Finance, Fatima Suanzes, accompanied by the mayor of New Technologies, Joaquín Mowing, today introduced the new electronic billing portal that from today, is already available on the municipal website, and aims to facilitate providers council submitting their bills via the Internet.
Suanzes remembered in this way complies with state regulations, according to which, as of January 15 this year all legal persons, in addition to individuals, ie, autonomous, emitting bills of more than 5000 euros They must submit them electronically. This, according to the councilor, will result in cost savings, reducing time and errors, improved efficiency and security and greater respect for the environment, as it will replace the paper bill .
To report the new electronic invoice processing, the City has sent more than 1,800 information letters to their usual suppliers, and from today you can also see the new portal, which is the whole point of invoice entry, a kind of window only where submission, using all companies a common format and encoding.
Once submitted the bill, the process continues with the entry in the accounting record, encoding the bill refers to management body (corresponding Department) and, once recognized, proceed to payment.
From the time of filing, the supplier will receive a receipt with invoice data, the processing status may consult at any time.
The benefits of electronic invoicing is to contribute to reduce the time of payment to suppliers.
In this sense, Fatima Suanzes remembered that the average payment period the city council during the month of November was 27 days and the goal is to reduce as far as possible and, above all, not to exceed 30 days.
