The UPCT ranked eleventh in the ranking of scientific productivity of Knowledge and Development Foundation
Researchers from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) conducted more than 3,000 scientific publications between 2003 and 2012, ranking among the top 15 out of 57 public and private universities, in relation to productivity per teacher.
This data appears in the annual report 'The Spanish universities.

The document recently made public, considering the closest period from 2008 to 2012, situated at the Technical University of Cartagena in 11th place in the computation of "scientific production of excellence with leadership" This section is valued the knowledge generated most cited by other researchers.
Also ranking as the fourth UPCT university with the highest percentage of scientific production of excellence in leadership in the field of Engineering, his field of expertise.
The study also puts the Polytechnic among the top 20 in number of patents per teacher and also reveals that a third of its new doctors are less than 30 years.
These results are important in a region that intended, according to this report, resources for Research in Higher Education Sector, 35,600 euros per researcher, as only 57% of the national average (62,200 euros).
