On Wednesday, January 7, the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), José Antonio Franco, participate in a performance boost population of El Garbancillo in the ancient schools of Tallante.

This is a plantation of various specimens of this species endemic to the west of the Campo de Cartagena.

The planting will take place at 10:30 hours and it will also participate Councillor for Environment, Joaquín Segado.

This action is part of the project LIFE11 / BIO / ES / 727 Conservation of Astragalus nitidiflorus in their habitat potential in the Region of Murcia taking place between June 2012 and June 2016. Its main objective is to recover and preserve the Garbancillo of Tallante (Astragalus nitidiflorus) in his criticism and potential distribution area, ensuring long term of this unique species that lives exclusively in the western part of the field of Cartagena survival.
