The Cartagena Gabriel Escudero, considered one of the best young Spanish pianists, rehearsing today with the Chamber Orchestra at the Conservatory for the concert to be held this Tuesday at 8 pm at El Batel
The regional contest of Classical Music for Young Performers between strings and brass, organized by the Youth Council and the Conservatory of Music, returns with the extraordinary concert of the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
The cycle recovers former winners of this contest, as in the case of pianist Gabriel Escudero, awarded in 1998.
It will be on Tuesday 30 December when classical music reaches the Auditorio El Batel at 20.00 hours.
Preparations began Monday, the trial was conducted this morning in the auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena.
Before the start of it, Escudero was happy to return to his homeland to perform in this concert, I feel a great joy to return to Cartagena, in my city, for me the best city in the world, explained the pianist, as he details on the portfolio to be interpreted.
The Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena expands its workforce to over 30 musicians, led this time by Andrés Pérez Barnabas.
The extraordinary concert program this year pays tribute to Viennese classicism with works by two of its greatest exponents such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn.
The guest pianist, Gabriel Escudero demonstrate their artistic at the keyboard with extensive experience skills.
The Cartagena began studying piano at age six, marching after finishing college career to pursue his musical studies in the US scholarship from Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College of New York.
In May 2013 received his doctorate after spending the 2012-2013 academic year at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.
Presently living in Shanghai, China where he teaches young talents in the Faceart Institute of Music since September 2014.
He has also won numerous prizes and awards such as the First Prize II Contest between strings and brass in 1998, First Prize in Piano Competition Ciutad of Manresa, National Best Instrumentalist in the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo, First Prize in Piano Competition Infanta Cristina and Steinway & Sons Special Prize, First Prize in Piano Competition Ciutat de Xativa and Piano Concerto Competition at Mannes College, New York.
The Cartagena musician has been invited as a soloist after winning the First Prize of the Second Edition of the Contest 1998.
The entry for the special concert is free to fill seats.
From 19.00 hours door opening will take place.
This concert will be held with the support received by the Department of Youth and Culture, the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena and the company Repsol.
