The Governing Council has approved an agreement between the Presidential and Employment, through the Employment and Training Service (SEF) and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) to implement at this university Scholarships Job Placement.
Through this project, which is part of the Strategy for Employment Creation of regional government, students may extend UPCT traineeships in companies provided within their qualifications, which usually last between one and three months, so as to be allowed to continue with the company for six months thanks to these scholarships.
The aim, therefore, is that students have professional experience longer lasting, and facilitate their access to the labor market.
Such scholarships have proven very effective in achieving the employment of young people, as seven out of ten get a contract in the same companies in which they conduct practices.
Furthermore, this agreement allows a better understanding of the needs of entrepreneurs in the region and constitutes a suitable framework to facilitate the activity of recruitment, scholarships allow it to have professionals who, in addition to knowledge of the degree, have acquired experience in the relevant sector.
In addition to this work of expert advice, the regional government allocated 280,000 euros next year this project to increase by 200 per month the amount of grants received by students.
