Agents Cartagena Local Police last night arrested a driver who was driving drunk in contradirección.
The arrest followed a chase through different streets of the city.
The incident took place on about 22.30 hours when a local police unit that circulated Paseo Alfonso XII of Spain towards Plaza, off street Joaquín Navarro, watched a passenger vehicle driving in the opposite direction towards Plaza Spain , forcing other vehicles to perform evasive maneuvers to avoid a collision.
The agents proceeded to give high to said vehicle by light and acoustic signals, ignoring and speeding in a zigzag manner.
Arriving at Plaza del Par, he made ​​reversal, returning to street Calle Real Fish, where he continued circulating counterclockwise.
The officers gave warning to other units and continued their persecution Paseo Alfonso XII, towards Plaza de la Isla. The implied circulated through the center of the road and high speed, to avoid being overtaken by the police vehicle.
Upon reaching Plaza de la Isla, turned towards Avda Trovero Marín by Cuesta Batel, and once in front of the bus station, attempts were stopped by another police unit, ignoring and continuing towards Plaza Bastarreche, where he was eventually intercepted .
The driver they were seen clear signs of being under the influence of alcohol and was identified as HM, 35 years old and of North African origin, who was taken into custody Security Park to perform the relevant tests.
In the first instance in police custody the involved refused to perform the tests, being transferred to the medical center for treatment.
Once back to Security Park and after being requerdio back to perform the tests with negative results, the involved was charged with an alleged crime against road safety for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to evidence lawfully established and reckless driving.
