The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, participated this morning in Valladolid, in a panel discussion on "Heritage and urban experiences" which was held in the meeting "in Spanish Future" organized by the El Norte de Castilla and the Bank of Development of Latin America.
The mayor had been invited to present the experience of Cartagena in the recovery of the historical center on the first day of this meeting, which was developed under the title "Heritage: Treasures of the Past, future proof".
Barreiro has shared the stage with Javier León de la Riva, Mayor of Valladolid; Germán Bustamante, director of the Workshop School Cartagena de Indias;
and Fernando, director of Strategy Development Bank of Latin America.
During the conference will review examples are conservation and management of artistic and natural heritage and its potential as an economic resource.
Among the participants from various countries, are responsible for resources such as the Archaeological Park of Machu Pichu, the national parks of Colombia, personalities like Jorge Cervantes Prize Edwuards and authorities as the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, José Ignacio Wert .
