Some 10,500 foreigners from countries of the European Union and others that Spain has reciprocity agreements and are registered in the municipality of Cartagena, may vote in the upcoming municipal elections of May 24, 2015.
To do this, follow the instructions on the Electoral Census Office, the Statistical Office of the City of Cartagena has opened the application period of this right, until December 30, for EU citizens, and open from December 1 to January 15, for nationals of countries with reciprocal.
These are Bolivia, Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Korea, Ecuador, Iceland, Norway, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago.
EU citizens should go to the Bureau of Statistics, at Avenida Ronda de La Union or any of the existing SKIP in the provincial and fill in the appropriate application.
National reciprocity agreements should also should apply on form, also meet the following requirements: be over eighteen years and not be deprived of the right to vote;
be registered in the municipal population;
be in possession of a residence permit in Spain and have resided legally in Spain the time required in the relevant agreement.
