Professor, Department of Applied Mathematics Statistics UPCT, Juan Medina with Telefonica Learning Services have released the 'Owlas' massive online platform and open course (MOOC) for students in secondary and high schools, where some teachers are more involved University Politécnica de Cartagena.
This platform, which is offered to all stakeholders in an open, free and without fixed hours form of short courses set is configured in related sciences, computer and language areas.
The aim of this platform is to supplement what is learned in the classroom and form brightest students in all these areas.
To access the courses, which begin teaching the next 3 December, has not paid any subscription or download any special software on your computer.
The initiative was promoted by Professor UPCT, Juan Medina, known for its outreach of mathematics, with projects like 'lasmatemáticas.es' or the book 'Your son may be a maths genius' and Telefonica Learning Services, the Telefonica group.
Currently, Medina is a benchmark for the entire university community in the use of audiovisual technologies, service Polimedia Production Centre of Audiovisual Content UPCT, for teaching distance and interactive.
In Owlas platform also engaged the teachers at the Polytechnic of Cartagena Diego Alonso, Francisca and Juan Ángel Pastor Rosique.
