The City of Cartagena presented today at the II International Congress of Business Incubator Entrepreneurs Barrio project with the idea of getting new members willing to be part of this technological neighborhood, as defined by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, in its opening .
The mayor has said that the strategy is now fully defined and has been convinced that the right impetus to resources Neighborhood Entrepreneurs converted to an attractive place for investment and to attract new talent in research, development and innovation.
For Barreiro it is a strategic project of economic, urban and social development, which are involved the City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Technical University and the government of the Community, which has included in its Regional Strategic Plan.
The goal is to induce the creation of new technology-based firms in the heart of the city, so that, while a new business model is launched, the urban renewal of historic center of Cartagena culminates.
The Neighborhood Entrepreneurs called geographically encompasses the University District and the surroundings of Monte Sacro.
According Barreiro recovery will take sustainability criteria, making compatible the historic city with technological models of smart cities.
The neighborhood have spaces for coexistence of creators and entrepreneurs and will have at your disposal services and appropriate tools for gestation and development of their ideas.
The Technical University at capacity to generate knowledge and new talent has to the mayor a leading role as a driver of new business opportunities, but so has the traditional business of the region, which needs this knowledge to renew, become more competitive and access new markets.
For the official launch of this initiative in whose planning has been working in recent months, has been chosen precisely the II International Congress of Nurseries Company in which new avenues for business development and employment generation will be scored, which support a new economy based on talent and excellence, so that the project could win new allies.
Along with the mayor have been on the opening day Secretary of State of Finance, President of the Foundation INCYDE Chambers of Commerce and the Minister of Industry.
The draft Neighborhood Entrepreneurs will be presented by the Town Planning and Infarestructuras, Francisco Espejo, and those responsible for the consulting Idencity after 12 hours.
The presentations will take place between Monday and Tuesday in the Municipal Auditorium and Congress of Batel.
