The lack of coverage is not an obstacle to receive and even to send data through the jumps between mobile devices whose protocol researchers have patented the Polytechnic University of Cartagena
The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office registered the patent, after a rigorous review that began in 2010, Division of Innovation in Telematic Systems and Electronics (Lintel) UPCT led by Professor Fernando Cerdan, appointed last Friday Engineer of the Year by the College of 'telcos' Region.
The patented protocol handles jumps between mobile devices with energy saving mechanism for terminals that provide coverage minimize battery consumption.
The system allows to extend network coverage data, which can make voice calls over IP, "bouncing between terminals know the protocol," Cerda said.
"This invention solve real communication problems as those brigades firefighting", exemplifies the researcher at the Polytechnic.
To cover hospital isolated campaign would be another possible application of this protocol, which has also been incorporated into a prototype early warning to multiple vehicles to avoid collisions.
The protocol will be commercially exploited by IngeniaTIC, the spin-off created by Cerdán UPCT by developing an 'app' for mobile devices.
