The edition of the event organized by the city, thirteenth turns 28, 29 and 30 November in the streets of the old town full of shops, crafts, food and games for the little ones
Like every year at this time, the Medieval Market returns to Cartagena, 28, 29 and November 30, edition number 13, and does so with new, as the usual craft stalls, demonstrations of old crafts or activities children, this year adds holding a Medieval Tournament, which will be developed in several day passes by the old bullring.
The announcement of this new show has made him the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, during the presentation of the event organized by the City, which was preceded by a theatrical staging by two actors belonging to the organizers of the market this year that flanqueban the mayor dressed with individual costumes.
It is the Group of Companies Gleaming Sun (Sparks and PiramideArt Theatre), with the support of FITEC (International Fair Street Theatre).
The artistic cast will consist Theatre Sparkles, Turdión Musicians Grimorium, El Balcon de la Calle de la Luna, Company Arabesque, Charon, Artlequin, Tatira Shows, The Sparrows and the spectacle of Falconry Acecor with display of birds of prey, to liven continuously the three trading days.
As in previous years, the market, consisting of about 160 positions, 28 of them from Cartagena artisans, will be held in different streets and squares of the historic center of Cartagena, such as at San Diego (from Gloria Street), Square Merced, University Boulevard, esplanade of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, Duke Street, Square Laughing, Merganser (up Risueño Square), Plaza San Ginés, Four Saints, San Francisco Street, Pallas Street and Plaza San Francisco.
Regarding the decoration included the installation of information panels along the route of the market that provide visitors the times and locations of different shows each day.
As regards the Medieval Tournament, Calderón explained that there are two performances per day, and will be played by Celtic Horse Shows, Pontevedra, with a cast consisting of 4 knights on horseback, 4 squires, 4 jesters and a narrator.
The duration of each pass is about 90 minutes.
It will be held in a portable bullring installed in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, Antigone, accommodating up to 1100 people.
