The Municipal Group of United Left-Greens, collecting complaints Platform Beaches Dogs in Murcia, has filed a motion to be discussed at the next plenary session in which it is requested that the City of Cartagena replace the current bylaws governing beach use and the protection and ownership of pets in order to adapt to the Regional Act on the last of the above elements, relative to pets of citizens, which regulates that "councils should have in gardens, beaches and public parks suitable spaces clearly marked for walking and recreation dogs ".
Municipal ordinances contravening the regional law, however specifically exclude dogs from beaches, public swimming areas and arenas that are in or street.
With this, the Carthaginian council, intended as tourism, away from what they have already legislated many municipalities in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Galicia, Valencia, Andalucía, Cantabria and the Balearic and Canary Islands, which has been put up a few meters from this beach use.
This has shown that greater benefit is achieved in terms of animal welfare, civic and social satisfaction and economic impact (as the tourist variety is increased with the possibility to practice the so-called tourism 'Petfriendly' and the image is improved and national and international projection of the municipality.
