The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities and the city of Cartagena announce the eighteenth edition of the competition 'between strings and brass, an initiative aimed at students of Professional Music Education last year was attended by 150 students conservatories and private schools throughout the region.
The Director General of Vocational Training, Joaquin Buendia, attended today, along with Councilwoman Youth Cartagena, Ruth Maria Collado, the concert by the winners of last year's edition.
"This competition shows the high quality of training received by students in the Professional Schools of Music. It also represents an opportunity to act directly with a professional orchestra, an experience that helps to improve their skills," said Joaquin Buendia.
The concert, held at the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, winners of the last edition showed his acting talent as soloists accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
In this concert, as a novelty, he performed the winner of the category of Flamenco, a form that was included for the first time in the last edition of 'Between strings and brass. "
So, on stage at the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena was seen to winning mode Woodwinds, Pablo Alcantara;
winner Flamenco mode, Veronica Garcia, who played the part 'Gypsy', composed by Abdon Alcaraz;
the winner in the category of percussion, Samuel Muñoz;
and category Brass, Adrian Navarro.
The program included works by R.Vaughan Williams, N. Rosa and JS Bach.
This concert featuring the winners of the latest edition of 'Between strings and brass' can be seen on Wednesday at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, and Sunday, November 23, in the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Elena of Eagles.
A new award of 150 euros
Joaquin Buendia noted the high quality of the participants in this contest and recalled the excellent results that have subsequently obtained in the National Awards for Art Education Professionals convened in 2013 for the first time by the Ministry of Education.
"Two of the six winners of these awards in the category of Music, Jesús Ortega and Miguel Ángel Ros Soto had previously won this competition," said the CEO of Professional Training.
The deadline for those wishing to compete in this year's open until December 19.
One of the main novelties of this year is the addition of a third prize of a prize of 150 euros.
The first prize is 750 euros and the second has a budget of 350 euros, in addition to having a special mention to the young lower value of 15.
