The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) participates, along with five other European universities, in the EU-Excel initiative.
This is a project that over 200 students will be trained to create a start-up in his own university and later at a university abroad.
To do this, UPCT manage funding of around € 300,000.
Together with the Technical University of Cartagena, the universities of Athens, Munich, Cork, Poznan and Technology of Denmark, boost entrepreneurship start-ups in technology.
The project has aimed, in its two years, are about 480 start-ups incubated in the group of six universities.
"A college hard time making the leap to create companies.
That is why this project aims to create a European ecosystem to help them take that step, "explains Professor Andrés Iborra UPCT.
The initiative consists of a series of meetings-events or 'sprum' in which universities will capture their entrepreneurs to then send them in groups of six start-ups to the other five universities.
It will start with a first meeting to be held next June 2015. The selected entrepreneurs will receive a three-month training in their home university and two weeks abroad.
Finally their projects meet in a grand final event to choose the best start-ups involved in the project.
"Although the first year the theme of the start-ups will be generic in the second each university will specialize in one area.
UPCT encourage start-ups based on 'IoT' (Internet of Things and Internet of Things), "explains Professor Iborra.
All training will be held on campus UPCT in Cartagena and the Cloud Incubator Hub, located in the technology park of Fuente Alamo.
The share of the EU-UPCT Excel initiative adds to the Startup project scaleup, an entrepreneurial network of European level.
