These companies and institutions have excelled in supporting labor, education and social inclusion of Cartagena with Down syndrome and intellectual disability
Families driving the ASID Cartagena association integrated FEAPS Murcia, with their awards recognize 'Amigo Solidario' support to the group of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities in the region.
This year, they have earned this distinction El Corte Ingles, the College of the Salesians, the daily La Opinión de Cartagena, the cultural association 'The Scream' Fuente Alamo and writer Serafin Pineiro.
All received their awards this morning at the hands of the people with Down syndrome in a ceremony held at the Palace Hall and was chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro.
Each of these individuals, institutions and companies have excelled in partnership with ASID Cartagena to achieve full inclusion of the group to which this NGO defends and represents families.
As explained by its president, Juan Carrasco, "effective inclusion of people with Down syndrome are or intellectual disabilities as full citizens who are in need of allies in all areas of our environment."
For this reason, each 'Amigo Solidario' highlights one area of ​​life.
Thus, in the case of the English Court support is recognized labor inclusion by hiring workers and selling the products they make.
Its commitment to inclusive education of children is highlighted in the case of Colegio San Juan Bosco Salesians Cartagena, with Down syndrome and, in particular, the support of the College Basketball.
Meanwhile, the cultural association 'The Scream' is a group that wanted to take up the cause of promoting Cartagena ASID activities in the town of Fuente Alamo.
Also this year we have included a special award for the daily La Opinión de Cartagena for your interest in the collective and to publicize the work of ASID Cartagena to all its neighbors.
Finally, the writer Serafin Piñeiro received the award personally by his selfless involvement and ambassador for making the association with his novel 'The Sleeping truth', which spent part of the proceeds of sale to the entity.
All winners will receive the gratitude and affection of the hundred families ASID Cartagena in traditional annual dinner held this year on Saturday 15 dining rooms in New Botanical Garden Albujón alongside professionals, volunteers and friends of the entity.
ASID Cartagena is a non profit organization that was born as such in 1993.
