The Youth Guarantee pilot project Wednesday celebrated the awarding of diplomas to the second phase, consisting of 47 students, of which 10 have already found a job. The access to a good job or practices according to their level of training is The main objective of this program launched by the City Council, through the Local Development Agency and Employment (ALDE) and the Youth Council.
He advanced this morning Councilman Employment Joaquin Mowing, claimed that 20 others have been offered an educational opportunity, 8 type training to increase their knowledge and 16 placements of Cartagena.
The ceremony of diplomas also attended the Youth Councillor, Ruth Collins, along with the Deputy Director of Employment of the Autonomous Community, Maria Angeles Rodriguez.
PROGRAM
The City of Cartagena launched last December this pilot Youth Guarantee initiative, co-funded by the European Union, in order to form a stable network of cooperation between different institutions related to education, training, employment and youth.
The network has been designed with the aim of promoting coordinated actions that, throughout the year, a total of 120 youth in the municipality have access to a good job or practices commensurate with their level of training, or to other opportunities for education or job training that will enhance their chances of finding employment in the future.
This promoted by the City of Cartagena network are also part of the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Autonomous Community;
Polytechnic IES;
Beaza Cabezo Business Association;
Polytechnic University of Cartagena;
The Youth Council of Spain and the Youth Council of Cartagena.
The pilot in Cartagena Youth Guarantee initiative is one of 18 projects selected by the European Union.

The requirements to be part of this second pilot were between 16 and 24, be unemployed and not be enrolled in any training activity.
The educational profile of young people who have been part of the second round were as follows: 33% with no formal studies, 30% degree of secondary education, 30% degree of training cycles and 7% with high school degree.
ACTIVITIES
During the four months of participation, youth guarantee these participants organized the following activities:
-Interviews Individualized and periodicals for vocational and career counseling, which has provided advice to design your own itinerary for professional development.
The guidance has been developed by a joint team of technicians from the ALDE, the Department of Youth and SEF.
-Workshops To improve employability on topics related to coaching and developing talent, creativity, communication, ICT, active job search (resume, job interview, etc.), entrepreneurial skills or English language, among other.
These workshops are taught by expert trainers in different subjects.
-Sesiones Support group, conducted periodically during the four months of this last phase, using techniques of non-formal education in order to enhance teamwork, group cohesion, motivation and mutual aid among themselves participants, and promote the role of young people and their involvement in the project.
Recreational and sports-activities reinforcement, some in collaboration with ADE (Approach to Sport à ‰ lite) of the Department of Sports, to transmit the values ​​arising from sports activity and favor the activation of the participants.
-Visits Organized to meet some public services of interest to young people, such as the Youth Space, Informajoven and Youth Resource Center City Council and the office in Cartagena Regional Employment and Training, in addition to other resources in the municipality for employment.
-Search For an employment, training or educational opportunity consistent with your itinerary professional and consistent with their level of training, skills development and concerns.
