The regional government has approved an agreement between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities and other institutions to carry out the restoration, description and historical study of the notarial institution in the sixteenth century in Cartagena.
Specifically, they collaborate in this project the city of Cartagena, the Integra Foundation, the University of Murcia and the Chamber of Notaries of Murcia.
So in addition to this work, the chemical analysis of paper and inks used and the digitization of notarial Cartagena for the sixteenth century, kept in the Provincial Archives of Murcia is performed.
This process of restoration and digitization will allow access to all documentation of the population.
It will also facilitate the development of technical and historical studies.
Thus, it will allow a better understanding and dissemination of an important part of history and documentary heritage.
This work is part of the work developed by the Ministry with other institutions in order to boost the recovery, conservation and cataloging of the documentary heritage of the Region of Murcia.
It also encompasses the Crimson project, which involves the digitization of all notarial records, restoration and dissemination on the Internet with your picture and a fact sheet, which will facilitate their knowledge and conducting research.
