The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities has conducted a series of renovations and strengthening porches and Primary Education Lapuerta of Jose Maria College in Cartagena, which has invested a total of EUR 123,017.55.
In recent years, investment to improve the facilities of this center is over 400,000 euros.
The Director General of Education Centres, Maria Dolores Valcárcel, today visited the center accompanied by the Councillor for Education Cartagena, Joseph Marotta, who checked the status of works that will conclude next week.
"This is a necessary action that will serve to improve the conditions in which class they enrolled 782 students in this school, in which we have undertaken significant action for remodeling," said Maria Dolores Valcárcel.
It is the last action performed in the CEIP José María Lapuerta, located in Peral section of the port city, which in recent years have invested a total of 436,884 euros.
For example, this summer will be held jobs replacing the exterior carpentry lab module for more than 32,000 euros, while in 2010 and 2011 euros were invested 54648.08 and 54746.42 euros in construction of fencing and exterior design of modules and in improving the toilets in one of its modules.
In Cartagena, investment in educational infrastructure in recent years amounted to 23,367,959.77 euros.
Just last summer, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities carried out improvement work and conditioning in five schools and colleges, such as IES Espada and CEIP Puig Campillo, Beethoven, Anibal and José María Lapuerta by a total value of 100,180 euros.
