Socialist deputy regional Teresa Rosillo said that there is no justification for the privatization of the nursing home of Source Cubas, in Cartagena, and aims to make regional PP government through tendering management.
Rosique recalled that the residence is financed with public money, which should be managed by the IMAS.
In his opinion, "is impossible to tender the management of elderly residence Source Cubas means moving forward on the path taken by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy in the privatization of social services."
"When unexplained delay its reopening, ten years after the closing, and four since its renovation was completed, now comes the decision to private hands the management of a facility that has cost a lot of public money," said the deputy.
"We're talking about a home whose renovation has cost 5.7 million euros, to which must be added the 6.5 million that the state government is willing to pay a private entity for the management of the same, for now, for four years, "he said.
"If everything is done with public money, then what is the reason that this center can not be managed by the IMAS" asked Rosillo, "if not the firm and resolute commitment of the regional government to put in the hands of companies private public resources for Social Services, as happened with the Occupational Center Espinardo ".
"With the privatization of residence Source Cubas, Cartagena will be no public housing, as this was the only one there," he concluded.
