José María García, president of GALACTYCO, on the International Day for depathologization trans identities, read a manifesto with the EmpoderaT association, on Saturday October 18, at 12 noon, in the inter-association meeting organized by the City of Cartagena Plaza San Fracisco.
The event, which is held every year, seeks the removal of gender dysphoria and gender identity disorder in international diagnostic manuals as well as the abolition of the binary normalization treatments to intersex people, free access to hormonal treatments and surgeries, public health care coverage after-specific, and the fight against transphobia.
Since 2009, every October, the Campaign calls STP an International Day of Action for Trans Depathologization, with simultaneous demonstrations and other activities in cities around the world.
In October 2013, more than 100 actions in 49 cities depathologization different continents, organized by groups and activist organizations in the framework of the call for STP occurred.
As explained José María García, president of GALACTYCO, "In addition to annual demonstrations in October, along GALACTYCO year engages in information dissemination and claim in favor of desapatologización trans since it is only an identity within of human diversity, and as such should be known and treated.
