On Friday, October 17, the act of nomination of a public space on La Palma City Square Folk Group of Cartagena de La Palma will take place.
The event will be chaired by the mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and will take place at 20.30 hours, by the House of Folklore.
This publicly recognize the work more than eight decades ago has been making this association, first as a song and dance group Santa Florentina and later as Grupo Folklorico City of Cartagena, for the recovery, preservation and dissemination of culture and traditions of the Campo de Cartagena.
The plaza is located next to the House of Folklore, current headquarters of the group, which conducts its testing and guard costumes.
It also serves as a museum where various traditional costumes of the Campo de Cartagena are exposed, and where various events held throughout the year.In today Grupo Folklorico City of Cartagena de La Palma comprise about 100 people, divided into the children's section and the holder of adults.
It also has a bowling alley baile.Dentro school for music and the activities of the Group, one of the most important is the organization of the National Folklife Festival Campo de Cartagena.
