Citizen of Cartagena (MC) Movement asked the next full council that the Hymn to Cartagena sound in all official events planned by the City Council, as currently it does not.

And in many occasions Cartagena can see how the current local government team does not use the hymn virtually any event, thus contributing to their oblivion.

According to Jose Lopez, mayor of MC, "at the request of neighbors and groups who miss all those events organized by our City this musical composition adopted as the official anthem of the city of Cartagena, we propose that standard sound in those acts in order to help spread and therefore a better understanding of the history of the noble, heroic and always very loyal to friends and strangers. "

Onsite Hymn to Cartagena is the work of Manuel Diaz Cano, who composed the music, and Angel Rock, author of the letter;

that although written in 1984 to the public competition organized by the City and failed that year, his official statement as an anthem for the city back, specifically in 1987.
