Theatre, workshops and tastings to learn to value sustainable fisheries (09/10/2014)

The PescaSos campaign, organized by the association with Columbares cooperation of the City, culminating with a program of activities that will develop 17 to 26 October in Cartagena, aimed at raising awareness on the conservation of fisheries resources and the coast of Murcia Almeria

Cartagena was the city chosen by the Association for Columbares conclude PescaSos awareness campaign, an initiative that began this summer in the beach areas and now culminates in the program of activities in the week 17 to 26 October, aimed at contribute to the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources and economic development of the Murcia-Almeria coastline.

The city of Cartagena is collaborating in this endeavor, support actions like that have taken place this summer in Cabo de Palos, or which will be held in a few days, and have the Mercado de Santa Florentina, the Brotherhood of Fishermen and, above all, the fishing quarter of Santa Lucia, scripts and actors.

Councillor for Environment and Sustainable Development, Joaquín Segado, and the director of the Association Columbares, Carmen Molina, explained Thursday the details of this campaign, the objectives, as explained Segado are open fisheries, enhance traditional fishing , especially in a city that has lived for many years in this business and still living cartageneras 600 families and consumer awareness, counting with the collaboration of the sector, is if the hand of the fishermen and of Hostec.

Meanwhile, Carmen Molina stressed the originality of the activities to be carried out, there will be theater fishmongers, specifically in the Mercado de Santa Florentina, and on the street, a photo exhibition on traditional fishing boats and marine reserves, and concurrent workshops for children and adults, which is one of the innovations that will be in Cartagena, with the highlight of the campaign, a Tasting of Marinated fish dish of the city, which will take place in the Market with the cooperation of the fishermen.

All these actions are free and are financed by the European Fisheries Fund.

The number of seats in the workshops is limited, both infant (30 places, children 3 to 12 years), and adults (25 seats), and pre-registration is required via email pescasos.murcia@columbares.org

Directed to the local population and tourists, before arriving in Cartagena Mazarrón campaign, Mojacar, Garrucha, Pulpí, Ãƒ eagles, Cabo de Palos, San Pedro del Pinatar and San Jose-Nijar has come.
