Desperation, hunger and lack of involvement in the first world with the serious humanitarian crisis in Africa make thousands of people each year try to reach our borders looking for a decent future for their families.
In recent months it has increased the number of people arriving in Cartagena from the African continent in low security boats risking their lives.
The pandemic outbreak of Ebola in certain areas of Africa, increases the risk of spread of the disease as a result of mobility of people from the affected area.
Therefore, from SPCT, non-alert, but to prevent, we believe it would be necessary to extend the security protocols against Ebola, serving staff from the moment the people who come to our shores from the African continent.
Red Cross staff, Salvage, and the state security bodies directly involved in first aid when a boat is intercepted, and need to have the means and the knowledge to avoid possible infection.
Likewise, as has been shown in Madrid, it is necessary that the staff not only the Hospital of St. Lucia, but of all health centers and doctors' offices in our town owns material and proper training to face a possible case of this type of disease.
Since we do not intend to alert SPCT citizenship or political advantage of as serious as this, but we consider necessary to help the health administration in our region to take all appropriate measures to deal with possible alerts, and that's why we do these two proposals, in order that they be taken into account by the Ministry of Health of the CARM.
