Banco Santander and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) have strengthened their partnership with the creation of the 'Chair in Entrepreneurship Banco Santander-UPCT' to promote entrepreneurship and encourage the creation of technology-based companies through training and counseling students and teachers.
The initiative is contained in an agreement signed today by Jose Antonio Franco, rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and Luis Rodriguez de la Fuente, director of Banco Santander Territorial Murcia.
The ceremony was attended by the General Director of Universities of the Region of Murcia, Luis Javier Lozano, among others.
The new department includes the Office of Entrepreneurs of the Technical University of Cartagena, and will be located next to the Red Chairs Technology Companies in ELDI building, thus bringing together researchers and entrepreneurs, who will also be put in contact with sources of funding.
Domingo García Pérez de Lema, codirector of the Chair, said: "Students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena will have a space specifically dedicated to training in entrepreneurship and guide their business projects, which will result in greater wealth and economic growth ".
Experts on creativity, risk assessment, market research and marketing give workshops and training courses to generate among students and faculty interested in UPCT entrepreneurship necessary to create and successfully manage their business projects skills.
The agreement adds to the already extensive collaboration between UPCT and Banco Santander, through its Santander Universities Global Division, for which dozens of students from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena benefit each year from Santander Scholarships.
In addition, it has recently been released on Production Centre of Digital Content UPCT funded by Santander.
