The Local Government Board, held this morning under the chairmanship of Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has approved the project of building the new medical center in El Llano del Beal, with a budget of 450,000 euros.
According to the Councillor of Greater Decentralization, Citizen Participation, Agriculture, Health, Ángel Nicolás Bernal, it will respond with an old aspiration of the local residents.
Upon approval, the works will go on hiring soon: before the end of the year, said the councilman and are scheduled for completion during 2015.
The new facility will have three general medicine, pediatrics and two nurses. Shall serve a population of about 2,500 patients, although it has been designed to reach 4,000.
It will be built on municipal land, hitherto occupied an old building, which has been demolished, where SKIP was.
When the works are completed and the services are transferred, the ancient medical center, located next to the new, will also be demolished and in its place the facilities occupy the neighborhood, the SKIP and the women's association will be built.
This action is contemplated in a second phase, as he assured the council.
