The Minister of Industry, Tourism, Business and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz as President Development Institute (Info) - and the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Institute Foundation for Creation and Enterprise Development Department (Incyde), Javier Collado, signed a agreement to hold an International Congress of Business Incubators in Cartagena on 24 and 25 November.
Ruiz said that the meeting "will promote our international incubator network."
The agreement has also been signed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Bernal Martinez, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia, Pedro García-Balibrea, and the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorca, Eusebio Martinez Abellán .
Juan Carlos Ruiz noted that this international congress "is a unique opportunity for managers of nurseries and growers in the region, in Spain and other countries to share their experiences on innovation, technology and excellence in business."
In that regard, he added that "it is considering the presence of participants from Israel and several Latin American countries, among others."
The counselor reported that he has chosen the theme of Information Technology, ICT for Congress' since it is the sector that more than half of the companies housed in the Incubator Network Murcia belongs. "
"Through this conference, Cartagena will meet for two days participants from different countries with extensive experience in nurseries, which are important markets for ICT," he added.
Participants may attend seminars, lectures, conferences on innovation and technological development, workshops and working groups on management and financing.
Also, the Minister for Enterprise noted that "cooperation between projects and entrepreneurs will be encouraged, and mobility of young Europeans, which contributes to the Incubator Network in the Region to become European Network of Excellence will be promoted" .
"The signing of this agreement is no more than proof of our unwavering support to young entrepreneurial vocations and the consolidation of existing ones, thus fulfilling the goals set by Europe for the period 2014-2020," said the director.
Space for 200 entrepreneurs
Juan Carlos Ruiz noted that "the Region of Murcia has 18 incubators, most of which belong to the Incyde network, the largest network of incubators in Europe. Lorca is the case, Fuente Alamo, Cartagena, Cehegín Yecla, Puerto Lumbreras, Totana, Beniel, Cehegín and Archena ".
He added that "as a whole, Murcia nurseries have 199 accommodation spaces of startups and young entrepreneurs; places that are a magnet for knowledge and innovation in our community."
