The Local Government of the City of Cartagena will meet on Friday, September 12, under the chairmanship of Mayor, Pilar Barreiro.
The meeting will be held ordinary shares and from 9.30 pm in the council room of the Town Hall.
Among the issues that comprise the agenda is the proposal to Cartagena for nomination as Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2015. This is an award to eligible provincial capitals and cities of special gastronomic relevance.
The award is given annually to the city's prominence in the promotion of culinary tourism, defense of traditional cuisine and dissemination of quality food products.
This Cartagena deliver a Candidature File with a program of culinary events to be developed during 2015.
The choice will be given by a jury of prominent professionals of tourism (Turespaña, FITUR, Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces FEMP, Spanish Federation of Travel Agencies, Spanish Tourism Quality Institute), hospitality (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment Environment, FEHR, Taste Spain, Euro-Toques European Chefs, Restaurants Centennial Circle and Youth Restorers), communication (tourism journalists FEPET) and institutional representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Turespa.
The city chosen will be officially launched on January 29 at Fitur.
Previous editions have been distinguished Logroño 2012;
Burgos Vitoria Gasteiz 2013 and 2014.
