The European Commission analyzes these days in Brussels progress in job creation achieved through six Spanish pilot launched in Cartagena, Aragon, Avilés and Gijón (Asturias), Galicia and Valencia projects under the European warranty youth employment.
The evaluation takes place in the framework of a seminar at which representatives of the EC and the coordinators of 18 projects (of Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom, Ireland and Lithuania).
This is pilot whose value is to provide practical examples of how to implement the Youth Guarantee measures as strengthening links between business and universities or schools and increase support to youth through the public employment services.
The analyzed projects have a duration of one year and are divided into two groups: those for j oung in their final years of high school to help in the transition from school to work and those for whom NEET , to lead them to the education, training and employment.
In Cartagena, the initiative aims being developed through new methodologies, provide 120 young people access to a good job, continuing education, apprenticeship training or an internship in a maximum period of four months after being unemployed or finish formal education.
This pilot project in Cartagena Youth Guarantee is structured in two phases: from March to June 2014 and from July to October 2014.
In July, presented diplomas to 54 students who completed the first phase was carried out successfully.
Several of these students passed then perform labor practices through an agreement between the Agency and Local Development and Employment Cartagena companies in general;
most of them belonging to the Polygon Cabezo Beaza Business Association.
Jobs Councilman Joaquin Segado, highlighted the high interest for practical training of students in these companies and that are proving successful for the company and for the students as they lead a better professional training and knowledge to young the employer for possible recruitment.
The promoters of the SEF, the entity that is part of this network of cooperation of this project are collaborating to encourage entrepreneurs the information from these and other existing practices and the contractual relationship that might arise later with these young people opportunities to boost employment.
Since July this initiated the s econd call for students currently receiving personalized attention, academically oriented, professional, vocational and occupational training, ending with their education, training or employment in October.
OTHER INITIATIVES ESPAÃ'OLAS
The rest of selected initiatives in Spain include a program launched in Aragon have participated in ten companies in the areas of logistics and metal, which allowed for a six month internship to young unemployed.
Also include a project in Avilés has so far benefited 27 young people through training courses and general English and professional advice.
Moreover, the program Galicia, which to date have involved 50 young people, aims to promote self-employment and Gijon has created a new center to help young unemployed, career counseling, training, study visits and other measures.
Finally, the project developed in Valencia aims to promote self-employment among young people who are unemployed or seeking first access to the labor market after completing their studies.
European youth employment guarantee that all European states under 26 must have access to a job, training or practice within a maximum period of 4 months after finishing their studies or be unemployed.
