The coordinator and spokesman UPyD in Cartagena, Sergio Martinez, has requested the Consistory the elimination of architectural barriers that prevent the municipality and "equal access and movement of people with disabilities and functional disability."
In this regard, he noted that "in many cases there are no accessible pedestrian routes to and from the most important areas of our town" creating a difficulty listed for some people, and giving dangerous situations.
The local education spokesman has denounced the invasion of vehicles in pedestrian zones, or for handicapped parking is common and not right on the sidewalks and road conditions exist, being at different levels.
"With high pedestrian steps, sidewalks do not respect the feet in width, or parking areas are not properly marked with a vertical signaling."
For this reason, UPyD Cartagena has proposed the City Council to make a "current architectural analysis jimmies, develop a real plan to check the accessibility measures, targets and deadlines, and post it up and be reflected in the budgets of 2015 to make it a reality. "
