The Municipal Citizens Movement (MC) will present a motion to the next plenary session where he asked that the City of Cartagena started the work necessary for the creation of the Archaeological Ruta del Mar Menor, in order to promote cultural tourism as one of the cornerstones development of the municipality and the region.
So MC proposes the creation of a route through some of the archaeological remains, after excavation, study and musealization them for exhibition, then offering that route to Cartagena and visitors and cruise passengers, to which they would bid one guided tour that could combine cultural tourism by the Mar Menor with a dream end dining and beach route could even be extended to other municipalities in the region, because with them history and vestiges of it is shared, and a common past .
According to Jose Lopez, mayor of MC, "our proposal has the nominations made by the teacher and archaeologist, Javier García del Toro, including sites of special archaeological significance that are well documented, such as the remains of shellfish in Las Amoladeras, a palace Roman Cala Flores, the farm of Playa Paraiso, pools to make garum Los Nietos, Roman cisterns El Algar or Cueva Victoria, among others. "
However, the Municipal Archaeological Museum exhibits both remnants of all types and materials (ceramics, tools, tools, etc.) found at the sites listed, such as remains of their both civil and industrial constructions.
Lopez finished adding that "taking our town and county a story that transcends even the three thousand years that always attach to Cartagena, it is amazing no further highlight this tourism as one of the cornerstones of our present and future development."
