Hidrogea, concessionaire of the municipal water service, today launched the works of partial replacement of storm drain in the vicinity of the City Hall Square and Heroes of Cavite, action that is undertaken at this time so that they are completed before the time rainy, given the flooding caused in this area.
The improvement works, which are included within the Action Plan relating to Drainage and Stormwater Network HIDROGEA conducted annually, consist, first, in the coordinate deeper interconnection of two sections of rainwater collectors, which serve Main Street, Heroes of Cavite, Town Hall Square and the area of the Plaza José María Artes, and on the other, expand the diameter of the by-pass connecting the two manifolds with a PVC pipe of 500 mm diameter and a length of 18 meters, approximately.
The deadline for completion of works is about ten days, having chosen this time because it is only scheduled arrival of a cruise, when before and after the number of cruise passengers scheduled dates is considerably greater.
In the event that
the water table, given the depth of the performances, hinder the implementation of planned works and the same could not be completed within 10 days, is expected to leave the action zone practicable for the arrival of the three cruises on 21 August, over 7,000 tourists aboard, and then finish placing the stone pavement.
