The Festival La Mar de Músicas has been honored with the Award for Best Work of Promoting Music within the Trofeso Pencho Cros corresponding to the XV International Cultural Foundation Convocation of the Cante de las Minas.
These trophies reward certain activities with the aim to promote and encourage the development of International Festival del Cante de las Minas, addressing relevant aspects of La Union, the Festival itself, miners or cante flamenco in general.
The award for Best Work of Promoting Music has been awarded ex aequo, to the Sea of Music Festival in Cartagena, at its twentieth edition, and the Festival de Cante Flamenco Lo Ferro, now celebrating its thirty-fifth contest .
These are two of the most important festivals and major national and international recognition of our region, and this award aims to reward excellent outreach and promotion of music in general, and flamenco in particular.
Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, will attend the event to collect the award and that s held on Thursday, August 7, at 20.00 pm in the auditorium of the City of La Union.
