Unemployment fell in Cartagena during the month of July in 225 people which means a drop of 1.06%, half a point above the national average. This is the seventh consecutive month that unemployment falls while in Cartagena the Region has been an increase of 1.23%.
Unemployment has declined in all sectors except agriculture, but since July 2013, unemployment has fallen in all sectors, with a particularly significant decline in construction, 15.8% less, and Industry, a drop from 12 , 3%.
The area councilor Employment Joaquin Mowing, valued optimism this morning that unemployment and falling below the 21,000 people that has not happened since October 2011. Moreover, stressed that since February 2013, when high unemployment in the town, unemployment has dropped in Cartagena in 3,337 people, 13.7%

job creation is the most obvious of the start of the economic recovery symptoms. Segado further estimated that the measures taken by the Government of Spain to boost the economy have already begun to be felt and the drop in unemployment is the obvious fact.
We are aware that the summer season is a boost for job creation but we are confident that in the coming months the trend started in early 2014 keeps, stressed the councilman.
