The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and the Directorate General of Universities have designed this course to 52,000 euros tuition scholarships and study grants of which 80 students have benefited UPCT.
These grants have allowed students to continue their studies on low incomes who have obtained scholarship from the Ministry of Education.
The objective of the call is "to prevent students at the Polytechnic can not continue their studies for reasons of an economic nature," the Vice Chancellor for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martinez.
Scholars have benefited from aid for tuition, residence, transportation or additional aid for very low income.
Exceptional Circumstances
The call has also received a scholarship to students who have suffered a worsening economic situation of the family and supervening exceptional circumstances and that these have led to inadequate academic performance situations, as the Vice Chancellor.
In this case "are situations of domestic violence or serious illness, parental unemployment, among others", adds the Vice Chancellor.
