The Cross of Cabo de Palos, one of the most popular races in the region, to be held back one more summer in a sixth edition in which more than a thousand runners participated in last Saturday absolute proof.
The Athletics Club La Manga, in collaboration with the city of Cartagena, organizes this event in which was included as a new climb to the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos.
Alberto Gonzalez, the Skechers Go Run Color Q CA Nogalte, repeated success a year ago and the Cross Trophy winner after getting a time of 20:42.
Behind him, Raul Guevara, Mandarache Cartagena, first with 20:43 A Veterans.
Third, fellow athlete CA Nogalte José Manuel Cortes, Senior stood second after crossing the finish line at 20:51, while the world marathon champion Martin Fiz ended fourth overall and first in Veterans B with a time of 21:17.
On the women's side, still mastering the Mercedes Merino Running Challenge.
The athlete won Mandarache again stopping the clock in 26:06, followed by Isabel Pelegrin, the Marathon Cartagena, Senior winner crossing the finish line in 27:28.
The third woman was the athlete CD Runtritón Sandra García-Pagán, finishing second in 27:39 A Veteran.
Hundreds of people, including curious friends, family and sports enthusiasts, joined this party for close athletics career, as the Councillor for Sports, Diego Ortega.
Sport and solidarity also joined in this race, and that the proceeds of the registration of participants to various charities of the Shire as ASID Cartagena, Aideman, the Spanish Association Against Cancer and The Little Sisters of the Poor will be used.
Also during the celebration of the event there was food collection and sportswear for Caritas Cartagena.
