The Fishermen's Association today celebrated Wednesday, July 16, the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, and has done this morning showing his charitable side.
And is that a year fishermen met Cartagena tradition of donating several batches of fish to various charities of the town.
In total, broke down in the Market St. Lucia 300 kilos of hake, 100 salmon, cod and other 80 100 mackerel. Nine charities receiving these lots of fish today, specifically, did the Creche, Charity Hospital of Pines Nursing Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor, Torre Nazareth, Sisters Cistencienses, Bethany Home, Social Dining Good Samaritan , Solidarity Lounge Jesus Master and Shepherd and Home for Children.
About 300 people currently work in the fishing industry within the Brotherhood, which has a fleet totaling more than thirty boats in Cabo de Palos, Cartagena and Portman as purse seiners, longliners, trawlers and minor arts.
