The Department of Sports City of Cartagena, with the mayor, Diego Ortega, head, moved his condolences to the family of the veteran athlete cartagenero Lorente Gregorio Rosas, who died on Sunday at 93 years of age.
Lorente started running 12 years into a career in Cabo de Palos, and no longer would stop along his long life, in which he took part in many popular races as a member of the Club Marathon Cartagena, as the San Silvestre cartagenera or Cross Artillery, and marathons like Cieza or Torrevieja.
Their good work has also led him sporting receive numerous awards as Cartagenero Sports Awards and Sporting Merit Award of the Region of Murcia.
He also was nominated for the title of Cartagenero the year in 2009.
