The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Enterprise and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz, visit on Monday, July 14, the Repsol refinery in the Valley of tailings, to see first hand the develops different projects, especially those aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
The mayor and the director scheduled to arrive at 11.30 am at the plant site, where they will receive some explanations about its operation by its director, Juan Antonio Carrillo de Albornoz.
Then there is provided a contact with the media in the lobby of the main building as well as a tour of the facilities minibus accompanied by photojournalists.
The refinery tailings generated over 1,600 jobs: 800 of them directly involving about 115 million in wages.
Right now develops projects to reduce emissions by 22 percent between 2011 and 2016 and for which plans to spend about 41 million euros.
