On Friday, July 11, diplomas will be issued to participants who have successfully completed the first phase of the pilot Youth Guarantee in Cartagena.
The event will take place at 10 am in the ceremonial hall of the Town Hall, with the assistance of the council of Employment and Youth, Joaquín Segado and Ruth Collins, with the director general of the Regional Employment and Training, Alejandro Lopez-Zamora fuensalida.
After delivering a video summary of this pilot, which has conducted the Agency of Local Development and Employment Ayuntamientro Cartagena (ALDE) and that different times and testimonies of young people gather along will be screened their participation in activities in the last four months.
Different trainers who participated in the workshops offered, the guide who developed the individual monitoring of each case and the representatives of the institutions promoting this pilot project Youth Guarantee will also be present.
The City of Cartagena launched last December this pilot Youth Guarantee initiative, funded by the European Union, in order to form a stable network of cooperation between different institutions related to education, training, employment and youth.
The network is proposed for the purpose of i mpulsar coordinated actions that, at the end of this year, a group of 120 young people have access to good jobs commensurate with their training or practice level or other educational opportunities or vocational training that will enhance their chances of finding employment in the future.
Network behind the project are part the city of Cartagena, through the ALDE and the Department of Youth;
Regional Employment and Training Service of the Autonomous Community;
IES Polytechnic;
Beaza Cabezo Business Association;
Polytechnic University of Cartagena;
the Youth Council of Spain and the Youth Council of Cartagena.
The pilot in Cartagena Youth Guarantee initiative is one of 16 selected by the European Union projects.
On Friday July 4th the Government of Spain presented the National Youth Guarantee System that incorporates the philosophy that is being implemented since December in Cartagena and draws on best practices developed here.'s Pilot project in Cartagena Youth Guarantee is structured in two phases:
-1st announcement: March to June 2014-2 second call: July to October 2014
That is why at this time is terminated in the first call that involved a total of 65 young, of which 54 participants have successfully completed.
The requirements to be part of this first experiment were: - Be between 16 and 24 - Meet unemployed and not be enrolled in any training activity.
In addition, they must meet one of the following circumstances: - Have been enrolled at the Polytechnic IES during the 2013-14 course - be registered as unemployed in the SEF with antiques minimum 6 months old - Finding yourself in a situation of inactivity.. for at least 12 months.
The call and selection of participants was made through IES Polytechnic, the SEF, the City Social Services and through contact with other youth organizations and institutions working with youth.
The educational profile of young people who have been part of the first call was as follows: - 71%: not regulated studies-17%: compulsory secondary education-10%: training cycles-2%: with baccalaureate
During the four months of participation, Youth Guarantee organized with these users the following activities:
- Individualized and periodicals for vocational and career counseling interviews in which he has provided advice to design your own itinerary of professional development.
The guidance has been developed by a joint team of technicians from the ALDE, the Department of Youth and SEF.
- Workshops to improve employability on topics related to coaching and developing talent, creativity, communication, ICT, active job search (resume, job interview, etc..), Entrepreneurial skills or English language, among other.
These workshops are taught by expert trainers in different subjects.
- Sports and Leisure Activities reinforcement, some in collaboration with ADE (Approach to Sport à ‰ lite) of the Department of Sports, in order to transmit the values ​​arising from sports activity and favor the young people themselves narrow ties together and mutual support among peers is enhanced, a key factor that helps them stay motivated alive.
- Organised visits for some public services of interest to young people, such as the Youth Council of the City and Cartagena office of Regional Employment and Training.
- Search for a job, training or educational opportunity consistent with your itinerary professional and consistent with their level of training, skills development and concerns.
