The Municipal Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro closed in July and August in order to continue the second phase of the renovation of the roof.
The works caused the temporary closure of these facilities last December and part of January to avoid filtration problems that affect residues that are exposed inside the museum.
After placement of a plasterboard walls and removal of previously installed plates, also took in the winter months to give more natural lighting to the site with a new skylight.
Now, in July and August, the works of the roof over the galleries where the presentations will be supplemented, as took a few months, following the refurbishment of the first phase, the conclusion of these works were carried out during this year.
Thus the museum, which is the seventh most visited in the region, was pending making these works to provide good service to visitors.
Since its reopening on 28 January this year, after the works of the first phase until today, the museum has received 17,508 visits, 6,510 more than in the same period last year.
This represents an increase of visitors by 45%, fueled by the activities planned as temporary exhibitions of the photographer Flamenco Feeling Virginia Rosillo and Plastihistoria Site of the Education Foundation.
The latter will be open until June 27.
It is during the summer months these exhibitions, the largest number of visitors coming from the schools are suspended.
CLOSING CONCERT SEASON
