Professional and occupational users Canteras center in the town of Cartagena, have organized a day of living in order to celebrate its center turns 37 serving people with mental disabilities.
The CEO of Persons with Disabilities of Murcia Institute of Social Action (IMAS), John Brown, participated in these events and assessed the involvement of professionals from the institution to "provide comprehensive care tailored to the needs of users."
Brown also stressed that "the process of development and programming activities is an important incentive for users because it helps them break the daily routine and serves as a motivational strategy."
During this day has scheduled a market of works done by users pottery and manipulative skills, along with a presentation with pictures of all the activities carried out during the year 2013.
The theater group 'Limelight', composed of members of occupational center Canteras, perform the play 'Word Association', after which the marine mosaic made in pottery workshop open.
At present, the establishment serves 120 mentally handicapped users, of which 80 are residential service, and the remaining 40 service day center, which are attended by 80 health professionals who provide services in the center.
John Brown explained that since the IMAS a total of 5.5 million euros is intended to keep this center and to ensure a "zoom" network of healthcare resources to users and their families and to enable professionals have optimal working condition.
The CEO said the programs developed in the center of Canteras, all as stated, "to promote personal autonomy, multisensory stimulation and continue to provide support to the families of users to promote the reconciliation of work and family life ".
