Cartagena, May 31, 2014 - The City of Cartagena agreed, in the scope of their responsibilities for procurement, including in the section on labor obligations of specific administrative clauses, contractors have the obligation to compliance with current legislation on effective equality between women and men.
That's what I asked the Municipal-Green United Left Group in a motion submitted by the mayor María Rosa Mateo, which will be treated in full next Monday.
This request is covered by the provisions of the Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March.
From United Left-Greens is believed to enforce once and for all the principle of equality between men and women and eliminate discrimination based on sex is valid only commitment and government agencies, but also necessary promote gender equality in the context of relations between the Administration and individuals.
Therefore, in public procurement, it is necessary to introduce clauses relating to gender equality.
This would result in the imposition of special conditions of contract execution to be carried out by the contracting authorities, promoting equality set out in Articles 33 and 34 of the aforementioned Organic Law 3/2007.
