Youth who are involved since last March in the Youth Guarantee pilot driving the ALDE and the Youth Council program participated last Monday in a meeting with the athlete Andrés Lledo.
This initiative has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Sports in the activities of the EDA Program (Approach to Sport à ‰ lite), which aims, among others, to promote the values ​​that emerge from the sport among young people of the village.
During the meeting, held at the premises of the Training Center Quarry, the athlete Cartagena told the audience his testimony effort to overcome the various personal challenges that has marked both professionally and in their sports fans .
It lledó explained his latest challenge: participation in the Grand Slam of 4Deserts, an extreme challenge that is being run over 1,000 miles in 4 runs through the deserts of Atacama (Chile), Gobi (China) Sahara (Jordan) and Antarctica, in conditions of food self-sufficiency.
In his presentation, Lledo announced the young attendees how to prepare physically and mentally before their participation in each event and explained some of the difficulties faced during the course of such tests.
The Cartagena athlete also highlighted the spirit of partnership and mutual support that prevails among people who participate in these tests.
WARRANTY A YOUTH
The Youth Guarantee pilot program, funded by the European Union, getting raises year-end a total of 120 youth in the municipality aged 16 to 24 have access to good jobs, continuing education, training apprenticeship or work experience in a maximum period of four months beginning their participation in the program.
In order to promote the activation of young people, the program also includes the organization of this type of complementary activities connected with the interests of the participants and encourage proactive attitudes that enable them, motivating them for taking challenges and transmit them value of effort and perseverance.
Right now Andrés Lledo just arrived in China where it is already prepared to start on Sunday June 1st the 250 kilometers that make the Gobi March will travel to Asia.
