The Agency for Local Development and Employment (ALDE), the City Hall, attended last week at a meeting between the different project participants Diversity in Local Economy and Integration (DELI) developing across Europe.
The appointment was in Lisbon to attending the ten cities that are part of this program is to promote the local economy in relation to immigrant entrepreneur.
During the meeting the different jobs the participating cities are doing locally, such as socioeconomic study of each, the establishment of a local platform internal and external entities and local staff to help implement the project objectives and exposed the developing a local action plan to boost strategic entrepreneurship of immigrants.
The project aims to identify and analyze the business contribution of immigrants to the local economy.
The project objectives are to facilitate entrepreneurship of immigrants, implement diversity management policies to facilitate companies immigrant access to public and private procedures and identify barriers or difficulties entrepreneurship of immigrants, implementing new strategies and best practices.
To help achieve these objectives has MPG Migration Policy Group is the European entity that supports this project to the Council of Europe and is responsible for providing the tools and evaluate the implementation.
It is funded by the Directorate General of Internal Affairs of the European Commission under the European Integration Fund, and has a total budget of 884 760 euros.
This project will end on June 30, 2015 and involves all local actors in achieving their goals.
Cartagena has been judged to participate in this project as a member of the European Network of Intercultural Cities RECI through the Department of Social Services of the City Council and have experience in business advisory firms immigrants through the ALDE.
