On April 5, 2014 the V Route Fortresses, a test that travels 53 km in a maximum time of 12 hours was held, is organized by the Spanish Armada, much of its route goes through batteries shore, and areas Military Cartagena, also passing through the city center.
Cartagena is a natural harbor, and their summits are crowned by military installations, many of them in use, but all of admirable beauty.
With this scenario a total of 4,000 participants, 3,750 for the general, and the rest for children and youth, and the whole city upside to the event, this is a test of the most important of its kind, and every year will increasing prestige.
Participants were sealed at all strategic points along the route, which is essential to complete the test, the following peaks;
El Calvario, San Julián, Castillo de la Concepción, windlass, Fajardo, Galeras, Atalaya and Roldán.
Each 5/7 km was preparing a refreshment point.
The target was located at the School of Marine Corps "General Albacete and Fuster".
In addition to the general test, organized the youth and junior class of 15 and 2.7 km, respectively, with different itineraries, all sharing the same starting point, located in the harbor, next to the Town Hall of Cartagena.
This place was also selected to the day before the event all participants proceed to pick up the race.
CHARITY WORK
The registration fee per participant was 31 €.
And with the money raised from the event, after defraying the expenses inherent in this edition, the organization shall be donated to various charities in the city of Cartagena, scheduled for May 28, at a public event.
This integral nature of the test was determined to be involved in the event.
